Was it fate that Julius Caesar was killed? Or was it that evil men felt that he was a tyrant? Fate is a term that can never be proven. I often use it to describe past events. Saying it about a future event would be more of a prediction, so that means you could be wrong. In Julius Caesar I believe it was Julius Caesar's fate to be killed. We know it happened so we can say it was his fate. I often think people associated fate and destiny too much. Fate is something that will happebn. But destiny is something that can be changed. So fate is something we should not use to describe future events.

Growing up is like the stock market, it has it's ups and downs. No matter what you will always have your ups and downs. So far, for my sophmore year, I've had about an equal amount of ups and downs. When I was younger I had many more good days then bad. Most likely is that when you're young there is less worry about your future or what you should be like. You don't care that the gas prices are soaring, because at that age you don't understand how it will affect you. But as you age, you begin to fall from innocence and start seeing the world for what it really is. You begin questioning the ideas of others and of the society you live in. You start wondering why no one understands you or thinks like you. After awhile you begin to question your own ideas.
I've realized most of these things this you because I have started watching and anazlyzing the way things are instead of just accepting them. After re-reading this I have noticed a sort of trend in my life. With it I might could predict my future. While young I had mostly good days. As I aged into my teenage years I have had a balance of good and bad days. So is it possible that the rest of my life will keep getting worse. Just like the stock market, it is unpredictable.

I connected more with Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood. Listening is one thing I think every individual can improve on. Just by listening to someone's problems you could help them in their time of need and hopefully make their day better. If everyone would just take turns listening and talking, many arguments and problems could be solved more easily and quickly. Maybe if everyone would actually listent to others the world might be able to coexist.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey has been greatly influencing my life since I started reading it. I feel as if I am becoming somewhat of a better and more understanding person. Since reading Habit 2 I have been thinking more and more about my future and what I want to do with it. But instead of worrying me it has helped me understand that I need to start setting higher goals and to start taking things way more seriously.
